Books and Newspapers

Tameside Libraries have separate LGBT book collections in their 5 largest Libraries:

• Tameside Central Library in Ashton-under-Lyne
• Denton Library
• Droylsden Library
• Hyde Library
• Stalybridge Library 

You can find them in the Library by looking out for the rainbow triangle which is on display next to the collections, and on the spine of each book. The collections include:

• Bestselling authors, such as Sarah Waters, Alan Hollingworth, Val McDermid, Armistead Maupin, Jackie Kay, Radclyffe, Gerri Hill, Katherine V Forrest, Jake Arnott and Patrick Gale.
• Biographies of famous LGBT people 
• Books featured on the Diva and Prowler websites
• Books from American publishers such as Bella Books, Bold Strokes, Kensington and Alyson books
• Lifestyle guides on subjects ranging from health to civil partnerships and parenting
• Books with gay and lesbian characters and themes 

You can also collect free copies of the LGF's Outnorthwest  from the Libraries that have LGBT collections, and view the latest edition of the Pink Paper or Pink News  at any of our computer learning centres.
