Save Cash in 2010
Save money at your library
If you do one thing this week to save yourself some cash, get a library card. If you don't have internet access at home or want to cut costs by getting rid of it, then head down to your local library where you can "surf, email or shop online for free", says Which? magazine.
You can also rent DVDs, CDs and talking books from libraries for around £2 a time – much cheaper than buying or renting from many high-street shops.
As for borrowing books, don't limit yourself to what the library has in stock. Tameside Libraries will order in the books you want for a fraction of the cost you would actually spend buying the book.
