Summer Reading Challenge
Roll up, Roll up, for Circus Stars
There is still time to finish the free national reading challenge for children aged 5-11.
You can take part until 23 December 2011.
- Circus Stars took centre stage in Tameside libraries from Saturday 2 July 2011. If you haven't finished yet there is still time.
- You can still get your prizes, medal and certificate up until 23 December - so please read 6 books and finish the challenge!
What will I get if I do the challenge?
- Rewards to collect along the way.
- Lots of great books to read.
- Free Big Top Bashes at your library in the Summer holidays to help you complete the challenge.
- Stickers, a yo-yo and a Circus Stars medal and certificate.
2011 Prize Winners
- Everyone who finished the challenge before 4pm on 3 September was entered in to a prize draw for £100 of Capital Bond vouchers - sponsored by New Charter. The winning Circus Star was Waqas Hussain from Ashton.
- The school that had the most finishers this year was Denton West End Primary School. They will receive some lovely new books for their school library from Tameside's School Library Service.
- The library with the most finishers during the Summer holiday library race was Hurst Library, closely followed by Haughton Green Library. All children who finished the challenge by the end of the race at those libraries will receive a free swim ticket to be used at one of Tameside's Pools courtesy of Tameside Sports Development Team.
