Licensing
The Licensing Section is responsible for providing an efficient and cost effective service for the Authority and for its clients. In doing so, the objective is to maintain and improve the standards of public safety in aspects of licensed premises, persons and vehicles. This is achieved by the balanced use of enforcement and education in relation to the appropriate legislation. Specific issues dealt with by the Section are listed below.
Enforcement staff work regularly in the evenings and at weekends, frequently until 3 a.m. Such in-performance visits are carried out without prior notification. Day time visits are also without prior notification, but pre-arranged visits can be organised where a licensee requires assistance and/or help and advice.
