Licensing
Dog Breeding Licence
Under the Breeding of Dogs Act 1973, the Council undertakes the licensing of dog breeders within the Borough of Tameside.
Therefore, if you intend to breed dogs within the Borough, then it will be necessary for you to obtain a licence under the above Act.
How to Apply
Step 1
Fill out the online form or print the completed application form onto ordinary A4 paper.
Step 2
Return forms, either by post or in person to the address above, during the hours shown, along with the relevant fee.
Paying for your Licence
Once your application has been accepted and the fee has been paid, the licensing Section will arrange for an inspection of your premises to be carried out by the Environmental Safety and Hygiene Section. Once the inspection has been completed, a report is submitted to the Licensing Section for their action.
Once the report has been received, and there are no objections to the application, the licence is then issued.
If objections are received, then the licensing section will prepare a report which will be considered at the next meeting of the Speakers Panel, which you, as the applicant, will be invited to attend, along with a representative, if you wish.
We look forward to receiving your application and, if you have any difficulty with any of the forms or have any questions regarding this matter, please contact us.
