Under the Pet Animals Act 1951, the Council undertakes the licensing of all Pet Shops within the Borough of Tameside.

Therefore, if you intend to run a Pet Shop, then it will be necessary for you to obtain a licence under the above Act.

How to Apply

Step 1

Print forms onto ordinary white A4 paper and complete in black ink using Capital Letters.

Step 2

Use the Contact Details below to return forms and submit the relevant fee, either by post or in person, during the hours shown.

Paying for your Licence

Once your application has been accepted, an inspection of the premises will be carried out by Environmental Safety and Hygiene Section. Once the report has been received, and there are no objections to the application, the licence is then issued.
