Community ResilienceWe work closely with our partners to ensure the sustainability of our strong 3rd sector and other community groups. Our communities play an essential role in building our economic resilience by being able to target initiatives at locality level and by really involving local people in building sustainable futures for those communities. 

Some examples

  • Armchair Exercise class at Khusham Did – a Women only Social Group and Luncheon ClubOpening Doors for Older People – supporting the health, wealth and independence of older people.
  • The funding from the Opening Doors for Older People Service has allowed us to continue to develop the groups’ recreation and leisure activities for Pakistani elderly women in Tameside….without it this wouldn’t have been possible.
  • Prevention and Early Intervention Service – targeted outreach scheme for older people.
  • St. Peters Partnerships – award winning social enterprise
  • Investment to support community and voluntary groups – building Social Capital, peer to peer support, time banking and skills exchange.

  • Volunteer Centre Tameside – stepping stone back to employment.
