Central Art Gallery is part of the Quality Assured Visitor Attraction Scheme.
Central Art Gallery is a real gem. Located above the library on Old Street in Ashton-under-Lyne, these beautiful gallery spaces host a varied programme of temporary exhibitions. There is something to suit everyone's taste with group and solo shows of artists from the region including paintings, sculpture, installation and textiles.
Central Art Gallery is also a great place to chill out and take a break from the world. With lots of comfortable seating and relaxing music this is the perfect place to have a moment to yourself or a chat with a friend.
We welcome noise and mess in our galleries and this is a family friendly space. We hold regular workshops and drop ins for all ages and there is a new drawing table within the gallery space for all ages to create an art work.
Opening times:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10.00am - 12.30pm and 1.00pm - 5.00pm
Thursday: 1.00pm - 7.30pm
Saturday: 9.00am - 12.30pm and 1.0pm - 4.00pm
Monday and Sunday: Closed
