The Museum of the Manchester Regiment has mounted a temporary exhibition to run from 4th July to 17th December 2007 to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the formation of the new Regiment. This exhibition, held at Ashton-under-Lyne Town Hall aims to encourage both existing and new users to visit and learn more about the Regiments' activities over the past 12 months.

The exhibition also tells how the traditions and spirit of The Manchester Regiment are being maintained today and promoted to the next generation of Regimental Soldier.

Kingsman Gavin Derrig, 20, of Denton, while serving with the 2nd Battalion in Iraq in 2007 said:

At tough times we've been fortunate in having each other and good facilities to keep our morale high and cope. I think that there will be many things that we have done which will create lasting memories such as bringing safety back to this area".
