Polo Cap Cover

Polo Cap before conservationIt is believed this polo cap cover belonged to a solider of the 63rd Regiment of Foot, later 1st Battalion Manchester Regiment, sometime before 1900. Not much is known about this item but we think that the colours were originally chocolate and yellow. It may have originally been used by the Manchester Polo Club as these were their club colours and then used regimentally.

This object was conserved in 2012 with support from the Kathy Callow Trust Link to External Website.
