Directions to Portland Basin Museum
- From Ashton Railway Station head towards Town Centre. Cross main road (Wellington Road). The bus station is on the right of the Council Offices and Wilkinson store.
- In bus station take 330 Stockport bus-book to Asda Store in Ashton (approx 5 mins)
- At Asda either - go into Asda's car park and down the steps opposite the main entrance, walk along the canal towpath, over a metal bridge crossing the canal. Museum is now visible on your left (this is the easiest route but may be muddy in bad weather) or cross the main road outside Asda. Walk back towards the large roundabout. Turn left down Hill Street - carry on until you come to Portland Street South - turn left - Museum is a few hundred yards on your right.
