Setantii offers a choice of history workshops for schools at Key Stages 1 and 2.

History Workshops

The Second World War

Mrs Hall, a member of the Women's Voluntary Service, meets the children. Through role-play and hands-on activities, the children learn about life on the Home Front, including evacuation, Air Raid precautions, rationing and Make Do & Mend. There is the opportunity to handle wartime artefacts and visit an Anderson Air Raid Shelter, complete with sound effects.

The Romans

The children will be met by Livia, the wife of a Roman tribune at the fort in Mamucium [ Manchester ]. The session will include a look at artefacts, replicas and a mosaic activity. The groups will also have the opportunity to do a Roman lesson, soldiers' role-play, worksheet and an archaeological activity.
