1. Notes of the Last Meeting

To receive for information, the notes of the last meeting of the Network held on 19 November 2010.

2. NWSSON Secretarial Arrangements

Gina Murphy is leaving Tameside Council at the end of March and will therefore be relinquishing the secretarial role that she has carried out on behalf of this Network for several years.

Nominations are sought from anyone who might be interested in taking on the role in the future.

3. AGMA Combined Authority Arrangements

Report from Steve Callender, Stockport MBC.

Steve will outline the new AGMA operating arrangements when the Combined Authority is established on 1 April 2011 and the role of scrutiny in the new structure. He will also outline the accountability mechanisms that have been agreed by the AGMA Executive Board in response to comments from District Scrutiny Committees to help develop links between local and sub-regional scrutiny.

4. Update from CfPS

Report from Ed Hammond, CfPS.

Ed will update the Network on the passage of the Localism Bill, including details of suggested amendments put forward by CfPS.

5. Current Scrutiny Review Topics

Update on current Scrutiny Review topics being undertaken by authorities.

6. Items for Future Agendas

Members are requested to suggest items for the next and future agendas.

The next meeting of the Network will take place on Friday, 15 July 2011, from 10.00am (for a 10.30am start). The venue is Committee Room 11, Manchester Town Hall, Albert Square, Manchester M60 2LA.
