The Pennine Care Trust has a Substance Misuse Team who's aim is to provide a high quality, confidential and user-friendly service. The service offers information, advice on substance misuse , support, treatment and counselling for drug/alcohol users and training and consultancy for other agencies in the Borough.

Addiction Dependency Solutions if you need help with alcohol or drug problems, Addiction Dependency Solutions (ADS) offers a wide range of support and treatment. The first step is to make contact with the Tameside ADS centre most convenient to you.

Health Improvement

Tameside and Glossop Primary Care Trust offer a range of services to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle. One of them is the Health Improvement Service which covers subjects such as stopping smoking, lifestyle courses and healthy eating.

The Government has launched its annual Keep Warm Keep Well Campaign which contains advice on staying warm over the winter.

Local NHS Services

Dentists  Tameside and Glossop Primary Care Trust is responsible for local NHS dental services.

Doctors Your local Doctors' surgery (or GP practice) provides a wide range of family health services.

Hospitals  NHS hospital services are run and managed by Acute Trusts, which make sure that hospitals provide high quality health care, and that they spend their money efficiently. They also decide on a strategy for how the hospital will develop, so that services improve.

Health Information Centre  - is based at Tameside General Hospital providing a variety of information to both patients and carers.

Pharmacies  (sometimes called Chemists) are experts in medicines and how they work.

Tameside General Hospital - The hospital provides all the specialties associated with a District General Hospital, with the exception of Mental Health Services, which form part of the Pennine Care NHS Trust .
