Where to get advice on managing your money

Money Matters

Information about money matters is available from Tameside Council Customer Service Centres.

Ashton Customer Services usually have staff available with Gujaratic, Bengali and urdu language skills.  Hyde Customer Services have staff available with Bengali skills.

Tameside Interpreting and Communication Service (TICS) can help deaf and hard of hearing people with any communciation needs.

Advice, information and help with form filling

Filling in forms can be quite difficult, if you are having problems with a form contact one of the organisations below or alternatively visit one of our Customer Service Centres.

Benefits

There are a number of key benefits for people aged 50+ eg. Attendance Allowance, Child Tax Credit, Council Tax Benefit, Carers Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Help with Health Costs, Help with House Repairs, Housing Benefit, Warm Front Grants, Winter Fuel Payments.  Contact Tameside Benefits Team

Credit Union

Are non-profit making co-operative organisations which offer an easy way to save regularly and can provide low-cost loans. Members own and manage their own credit union. Tameside has an extensive network of credit unions - for information on local credit unions and help in setting one up.

Pensions

There is a range of benefits for people of working age and pension age for which the Department for Work and Pensions is responsible. Pension Credit external link may be payable from age 60.

Tax
