More people go to libraries than football matches. Suprise you? It did me.

photo of children readingMaybe it’s because we get used to seeing match crowds on TV. You certainly don’t hear the roar in your local library (although you are allowed to talk these days).

Not that it really matters. Both libraries and football make us feel good. As does walking in the country, visiting an art gallery and going to museums.

They all have one thing in common - they help us to explore what we like and understand more about what living in Tameside means.

And that’s the focus of one tameside- a new magazine celebrating everything from arts and events to sports and community activities.

There’s a lot to write about. Young people, for example, have more than 500 things to choose from (no reason at all to say that they’re bored!). In this magazine, you’ll find plenty to keep you thinking, reading, wondering, wandering and dreaming. On of the best things about culture and leisure in Tameside is that a lot of what we have on offer is free. That’s right. It will cost you absolutely nothing to visit libraries, art galleries, to walk in the peaks, or to visit a museum.

So enjoy One Tameside. It’s all here for you.
