The Andrew Peet Memorial Photography Competition
The Andrew Peet Memorial Photography Competition 2008
In conjunction with Stalybridge District Assembly
If you’re a keen amateur photographer, then why not submit your work to the Andrew Peet Memorial Photography Competition?
The competition is organised by Stalybridge District Assembly in memory of local councillor Andrew Peet who died in December 2003.
This year, invitations have been extended to entrants from Stalybridge’s twin town of Armentieres. All entries must be connected with either Tameside or Armentieres and represent the towns or its people in some way. The competition is open to all ages, as there are categories for both senior and juniors. The closing date for entries is 23rd January 2009.
Senior Category
1st prize £250, 2nd £200, 3rd £100.
Junior Category
1st prize £75, 2nd £50, 3rd £25.
Cllr Kevin Welsh, Chair of Stalybridge District Assembly said, “This is a great opportunity for people to get out into Tameside and Armentieres and see what they can capture on camera.
“We had some great entries last year and this year we’re hoping for even more. Andrew was a keen photographer himself, so it’s only fitting that we hold this competition in his memory.”
The District Assembly is hoping to build on the success of last year’s competition, which attracted almost 400 entries.
Entry forms can be picked from the Stalybridge Customer Services Office, Stalybridge Civic Hall or call 0161 303 8547 for more details.
