Hattersley Area Action Plan Preferred Options Report
Planning and Compulsary Purchase Act 2004
Notice of Withdrawal of Development Plan Document
The Hattersley Area Action Plan
Under section 22(1) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and in accordance with section 37 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council gives notice that on the 22 nd August 2006 the Hattersley Area Action Plan Development Plan Document was withdrawn. The Hattersley Area Action Plan will therefore no longer be proceeded with and will not be submitted to the Secretary of State. All relevant documentation will now be removed from Council offices, libraries, Customer Service Centres and the Council website.
Significant progress has been made in Hattersley outside the production of the AAP, with the effect that the AAP is now lagging behind the wider regeneration process. The Council believe that it is more important to concentrate on supporting the continued delivery of regeneration in Hattersley, and that an AAP is no longer an appropriate means of attaining this goal.
The Council remains fully committed to the comprehensive regeneration of Hattersley, and the withdrawal of the AAP will allow the Planning Department to more effectively support this objective.
