Looking for some amusement in Denton? Seemples...get yourself to the annual carnival and fun day on Sunday, 11 September 2011, and you can enjoy a parade, all the fun of the fair and even meet a meerkat.
The carnival procession leaves Denton Community College’s 
south campus (former Two Trees School), Haughton Green, at 12.30pm, travelling along Two Trees Lane, Stockport Road, Crown Point, Manchester Road, Acre Street and Duke Street, arriving at Victoria Park at around 1.30pm.
And that’s where a packed programme of fun continues until 4.30pm. The meerkats will be provided by Dr Zoolittle’s Mini Zoo, which is making its first appearance alongside shows by Gap Puppets .
Among the other attractions are performances by the Fleur De Lys Majorettes, Adamson Military Band , and displays by Carrieann’s Dancers, the Starlight Dance Academy, MAD (Mad About Dance) Street Dance and the Buxton Billerettes .
There will be singing from Jodi Kay and Darren Phillips and live music from bands Chloe and Otter.
Other free family activities include face painting, henna painting, glitter tattoos, craft activities, pantomime characters, inflatables and funfair rides.
