Market Hall is a Cut Above The Rest
Press Release Date: 6 December 2010
The opening of a new hair salon has proved that Ashton Market Hall is a cut above the rest.
The historic hall, which recently underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment, is now fully occupied - a major coup considering the current economic climate.
Hair stylist Gina Lassandro took up the final free stall on 27 November, she was joined by Tameside Council Executive Member for Economic Services Cllr Dave Sweeton to officially open her business.
The hair salon follows closely in the footsteps of the Potters Wheel and a Chinese herbalist which recently took up stalls in the market hall.
Cllr Sweeton said: “This is an excellent news story in this current financial climate as many other market halls elsewhere are struggling to occupy all their stalls.
“Ashton Market Hall offers a wide variety of stalls including fresh food and produce, fashion, hardware, greetings cards and fancy dress. It is a favourite shopping destination for many people in Tameside and all around the region and we would encourage those who haven’t been for a while to come and look at what we have to offer.”
