Kick Racism Out Of Football 2007
Kick Racism Out Of Football 2007
Tameside MBC's Sports Development Unit, in strong partnership with the Equality and Diversity Centre (EDC), are organising events raising awareness of racism in football in conjunction with the Kick Racism Out Of Football Campaign.
The week has a strong community focus and celebrates the contribution made to football by black, Asian and other ethnic minorities, whilst continuing the call to challenge racism.
The competition on Friday, 2nd November 2007 encompassed, from all communities, boys and girls aged 7-12 years coming together to play a friendly but competitive game of football.
The competition was based at Oxford Park Sports Centre, in the heart of the Regeneration Area and in the heart of the local community.
Alongside the above event, we held numerous Kick It Out Competitions on Wednesday, 31st October across the Borough (The Copley Centre, Medlock Leisure Centre and Egerton Park Arts College) to engage as many young children as possible and make them aware of this National Campaign.
