Who decides when you can't?
Who decides when you can't?
Do you help look after a relative, neighbour or friend? If so you need to find out more about how the recently introduced Mental Capacity Act (MCA) could affect you as a carer.
Stockport Council
and Tameside Council have teamed up to help raise awareness of the MCA by organising an event that will use drama, case studies and information to help inform carers of their rights and responsibilities.
The training event is being held at Dukinfield Town Hall on Thursday 21st February, from 11.00am to 2.30pm.
People attending the events will also be able to visit information stands from local organisations providing support and services to carers and their families. Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided free of charge.
The MCA helps people to plan for a time when they are no longer able to make decisions themselves, perhaps due to an illness or injury. It covers all types of major decisions where a person may lack the capacity to make the choice themselves about money matters, social care or medical treatment, as well as everyday decisions.
For more information or to book your place at one of these events, contact Dianna Laverick at Tameside Council on 0161 342 5252 or 07817 223454.
