Welly Walks
Welly Walks
Families in the Ridgehill area enjoyed a Welly Walk to Stamford Park on Tuesday, 30th October 2007, where they played on the playground and took part in sport and game activities.
Tameside Sports Development and Ridgehill Children's Centre joined forces to offer children and carers in the Ridgehill area an enjoyable autumnal experience. Children of all ages had lots of fun, splashing in puddles and kicking the leaves on their journey to the park, and the fun didn't stop there! Once at the park children were offered varied sporting activities which including an egg and spoon race and parachute games.
The aim of the walk is to encourage parents/carers to take their children out and about and stay active throughout year.
On Thursday, 1st November 2007, families in the Waterloo area also enjoyed a welly walk and treasure hunt around Waterloo Children's Centre grounds before taking part in sport and creative activities.
Tameside Sports Development and Waterloo Children's Centre joined forces to offer children and carers an enjoyable autumn experience whilst encouraging families to get active! Children searched for hidden treasures around the grounds before the sporting and creative activities begun.
