Deputy Executive Leader
The Deputy Executive Leader is Deputy Chair of the Executive Cabinet and, as such, deputises for the Executive Leader in respect of all the Council’s affairs.
In addition the Deputy Executive Leader has individual responsibility for the service areas set out below:
Terms of Reference
- To deputise for the Executive Leader as and when required.
- To lead, monitor, have oversight and where necessary take decisions about policy/strategy and provision regarding corporate governance and people management functions including:-
- Legal services;
- Democratic services;
- Cabinet support;
- Media, marketing, communications, design and print;
- Registrars;
- Human resources, organisational development and training (incl. member training).
- To lead, monitor, have oversight and where necessary take decisions about policy/strategy and provision regarding leisure functions including sport and physical activity, sports development and the Sports Trust.
- Civic matters via the Assistant Executive Member (Heritage and Tourism).
- Mayoralty matters via the Chair of Council Business.
