Temporary Road Closures

Sometimes we have to temporarily close roads in the Borough so that work can be carried out. We try to avoid closing entire roads, but in some cases it is not always practical or safe to keep the road open.

Any company that needs a full/part road closure to work on the highway must apply for a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO).

If the road closure is urgent please ring Traffic Management on 0161 342 2496 and Street Works on 0161 342 2932.

To apply for a closure, you must complete and return an Application for Temporary Works 46.85 KB   6 weeks before you want to start work.
