Applying for a Primary School

If your child was born between 1st September 2005 and 31st August 2006, he/she is eligible to apply for a Reception class place at a Primary School for the academic year 2010/2011.

The Admissions Section will send "Starting Out" booklets to all Tameside Primary Schools during October 2009. You need to put your child's name down at your preferred Primary School by 9th October 2009 in order to receive a school application pack, even if your child attends the Nursery or you have an older child at the school. If you do not receive a pack, you can contact Admissions to request one. You may wish to view a copy of "Starting Out" on-line. Please put your child's name down at one Primary School only.

Please note that a place at a nursery attached to a Primary School does not automatically mean that your child will get a place at that school.

The closing date for applications for September 2010 is 3pm on 4th December 2009. You must return your application form, to your first preference Primary School by this date. Any applications received after 4th December 2009 will be dealt with after all applications received on time, and may result in an offer of a school place which is not your preferred school.

Parents have the opportunity to apply for a school place on-line. The online application facility has now closed for entry to primary school in September 2010.
