North West Scrutiny Support Officers' Network Meeting

1. Notes of the Last Meeting

To receive for information, the notes of the last meeting of the Network held on 19th March 2010.

2. CfPS Update

Ed Hammond will update the meeting with feedback from the Annual CfPS Conference and an update on Accountability Works.

3. Petitions Legislation

Presentation and discussion around how Council’s are moving forward in adopting the legislation.

4. Healthy Accountability Forum

Discussion on the North West’s future representation on the Healthy Accountability Forum.

In 2010 the Forums will be at Local Government House, London and will take place on:

• 20th September
• 16th December

John Addison (Bolton MBC) currently attends these meetings. The Network needs to decide whether representation on this Forum should be undertaken by one nominated representative or jointly between those officers who indicate an interest.

Also in the current climate, and with cutbacks having to be made, whether these meetings could be based more regionally in order to reduce the costs associated with travelling to London.
