Date : May 2005
| Recommendations | Executive Response | Officer Responsible | Action by (Date) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. That consideration be given to the long-term maintenance of target hardening measures and alley-gating schemes. | Funding has been assured for the next 3 years through the capital programme. This is allowing for longer term preventive work as well as responding to community concerns | Debbie Murray / Julie Stringer | Ongoing |
| 2. That further consideration be given to ways that Homewatch Schemes can be supported, including a higher profile at District Assembly meetings; increased opportunities for information sharing between Homewatch Co-ordinators and members of the Partnership - especially the police; and low level funding. |
Discussions are currently underway to discuss how we can move this forward. Early discussions suggest that information sharing between Homewatch co-ordinators and members of the partnership is set to improve. GMP have provided a list of Homewatch Co-ordinators to enable progress in this area. Evidence of this can be seen by their involvement in interventions targeting hotspot areas alongside statutory services. |

| 3. That greater publicity be given to the mobile video unit and other witness friendly measures. | The partnership is currently considering how we might integrate the communications action plan with key messages from the Local Criminal Justice Group who are also striving to improve public confidence | Lisa Lees / Mike Rhodes | Jan 2006 |
| 4. That consideration be given to forging closer links between the Partnership and local employers organisations to facilitate greater job opportunities for ex-offenders. | This issue is to be timetabled into the Link Officers group of the LSP with the aim of developing a detailed action plan which can be brought back to Scrutiny. | Lisa Lees / Mike Rhodes | ? |
| 5. That the important and innovative work of the Prolific Offenders Programme continue to be supported and adapted as necessary in the light of operational experience. |
The work of the Prolific Offenders programme is key to reducing levels of crime in the Borough and remains a priority are for investment in the Crime and Disorder Commissioning Strategy. The Partnership is keen to develop a more detailed Outcome Monitoring framework whereby the programme can be monitored against a wide range of positive outcome for offenders and communities. Work is in the early stages of development on this. |
