(1) That the Scrutiny Panel be provided with a copy of the Tameside Sport and Physical Activity Alliance’s Action Plan as soon as it is published. Accepted The Tameside Sport and Physical Activity Alliance’s Action Plan has been submitted to Sport England and a final copy will be presented to the Scrutiny Panel as soon as it has received approval. (2) That for monitoring purposes, the Cabinet Deputy for Personal and Community Services receives a quarterly report identifying grant allocations recommended by the Starter and Maintenance Grant Board Accepted This is being carried out and the Third Sector Coalition who administer the grants is up dating the Cabinet Deputy, Personal Services, on the distribution of grants on a regular basis. (3) That the Scrutiny Panel be provided with information on what impact the new decision making process has had on the allocation of grants. Accepted A report will be presented in due course to the Scrutiny Panel by the Third Sector Coalition. Tony Okotie July 2008

(5) That the Panel be informed of the outcome of the further development of the service in light of the consideration of the reviews referred to in the report – p8 (Review by the Policy Unit and Internal Audit Review Accepted Discussions are taking place with the Deputy Chief Executive regarding having a cross service review of support from the Council for the voluntary and community sector in Tameside. (6) That the Scrutiny Panel receive an update on the development of the policy around the role of the Council as a provider of funding and funding advice Accepted Review of procurement processes for small and medium enterprises is being undertaken by the Economic Development Group. (8) That the Scrutiny Panel be informed and receive copies of this information when it is produced in paper format – p11 (refers to dissemination of information on funding advice and TMBC grants to voluntary and community groups) Accepted Funding assistance is provided by the Third Sector Coalition and reported in their newsletter which is widely circulated. (1) That continued efforts be made to encourage voluntary and community support organisations in Tameside to work together for the benefit of the Sector Accepted The Compact Sub Group of Tameside Strategic partnership has changed its name and role to a cross sector policy group part of whose remit is to improve the contribution that the Voluntary / Community Sector makes to the Community Strategy. As part of Tameside Voice the Tameside Third Sector Coalition supports a forum for voluntary organisations which identifies where joint working will help voluntary / community development.
