Tots to teens across Tameside have been showing off their creative talents for this year’s annual Christmas card competition.
Organised by Tameside Council’s Children, Learning and Economic Services, the annual competition received over 200 entries, from schools, children centres and childminders across the borough.
And the lucky winners were presented with their awards at a special ceremony on Tuesday (29 November).
Children aged three to 14 were asked to design the cards that will be used as official Christmas cards for the council.
Jim Taylor, Executive Director, Claire Bibby, Assistant Executive Director, Schools, Youth and Community Services, Councillor Ged Cooney, Councillor Allison Gwynne and Stephen Duplo, Managing Director of The Stamford Group, judged every entry and three overall winners were chosen.
Sharon Lunga 14, from All Saints Catholic College , Lauren Boylan, 10 from Godley Primary School and Dylan Jones, 9 from Waterloo Primary School will see their design comes to life as electronic Christmas cards to be used by the council.
Councillor Ged Cooney said: "We were thrilled with the number of entries we received this year, the competition gives us the chance to showcase the amazing artistic talent of the borough's youngsters."
