Tameside Parent Partnership Service Impartiality Policy
Impartiality Policy
The role of Tameside Parent Partnership Service is to enable parents to become effective partners in their child’s education through the provision of impartial information and support.
Tameside Parent Partnership does not speak for parents but assists them to speak by offering support and information which enables parents to reach informed decisions, to act on their own and speak for themselves.
Any action taken by Tameside Parent Partnership is taken to determine and clarify facts about the child’s situation, and is only taken with permission of the parents. The intention is to provide parents with more informed opportunities, choices and options in relation to their child’s education.
Tameside Parent Partnership offers impartial, accurate information and support to enable parents to make informed decisions on behalf of their child.
Tameside Parent Partnership will not act as an advocate for parents or become directly involved in complaints but will provide information about how to complain and to whom, and will support parents by offering information about the Disagreement Resolution and SENDIST tribunal appeals process.
Tameside Parent Partnership operates a parent self referral service.
