| Inspect Licensed Vehicles We ensure that all licensed taxi/private hire vehicles are subject to annual inspection. In addition we carry out additional 'spot checks' to ensure passenger safety. |

| Inspect Licensed Premises All licensed premises are visited and inspected in relation to complaints. In addition we visit premises under new management to ensure they are aware of current legislation. |

Other Key Achievements
During 2008/09 the following achievements were made:
- We reviewed the current Street Trading areas and conditions permitted in order to explore consistency with corporate objectives particularly the promotion of a healthy population. .
- Implementation of a survey carried out with traders in relation to Pavement Cafe Licences this has resulted in a new fairer fee system which reduces the fees for small premises.
- We have developed a programme of enforcement for unlicensed limousines to ensure all passengers carried by these vehicles are not put at risk by ensuring that the driver and vehicle meets all licensing conditions.
