Other Key Achievements
During 2005/06 the following achievements were made:
- Almost 2000 licensing applications were processed and issued in accordance with Licensing Act applications.
- In partnership with Greater Manchester Police, the Council completed Operation Zero; an enforcement campaign to monitor compliance with the Licensing Act.
- Development of a regional enforcement protocol to ensure transparent and consistent enforcement across the Greater Manchester region.
- The production of a draft policy on the licensing of pavement cafés. The final policy was approved and adopted during Summer 2006.
- Implemented the findings of the independent taxi survey ensuring that there is no imminent demand in relation to local taxi provision.
