What is the Homemaker Service?
The Homemaker Service provides a 24 hour support service for people with learning disabilities who wish to live independently within the Tameside community.
What kind of services do we offer?
We provide services that promote individual living skills.
Services may include:
- 24 hour care
- Support with money
- Support with shopping
- Support with medical appointments
We will also liaise with other agencies to ensure that your skills are widened as much as possible. These agencies may include:
- Health teams
- Physiotherapists
- Speech therapists
- Day services
Where does the Homemaker Service take place?
The Homemaker Services has properties in Tameside which are staffed 24 hours a day and where people with learning disabilities can live independently.
What is the cost of the service?
The charge for this service equates to seventy five percent of the individual's Disability Allowance.
Who can receive the service?
If you would like to find out more information, please contact the Adult Assessment and Customer Care Team.
A member of the team will talk with you about your needs and refer you to the most appropriate agency. If you require 24 hour support this may mean you are referred to the Homemaker Service.
