Who inspects social care, private and voluntary health care services in Tameside?
The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) (www.csci.org.uk
):
- registers the private and voluntary care services that are required to meet national standards.
- inspects, assesses and reviews all care services in that area. This includes private and voluntary care services and local council Adult Services departments.
- publishes an inspection report detailing its findings after each inspection
- provides the local council with details of the number and quality of private and voluntary care services in their local area.
- deals with complaints about care service providers.
- from 2005 CSCI will review complaints about council Social Care and Health departments.
