The Community Performance Stage will feature a range of performances from Tameside’s Arts Groups.
Janice Hughes School of Dance

Set up in 1985, The Janice Hughes School of Dance now with over 200 pupils aged between 3 and 25 years has grown into the most well established and respected dance school in the North West.
Over the years, the school and its pupils have performed in many professional productions including the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, dancing with the Hallé Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall and Her Majesty’s Theatre in London.
Many of their pupils have gone on to make careers in theatre and dance.
Dynamite Dance

Dynamite Dance are currently one of the largest Streetdance and Breakdance academies in the North West. With currently over 1500 members aged from 2 years to 102 years of age, they currently hold the title of ‘North West Streetdance Champions of 2009, 2010 and 2011’. Also specialising in Zumba, Performing Arts and Latin Fusion, Dynamite Dance trade 7 days a week. Weekly classes are available with no joining fee or membership fee. It’s literally pay as you go and you also receive discount for attending more than one class per week.
YOUtheatre UK

YOUtheatre UK’s Mossley Musical Theatre classes present a selection of songs and dances from our forthcoming showcase, including some well-known numbers from Wicked, Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Lion King and The Rocky Horror Show. They will also give you a sneak preview of their next musical, “Olivia!”. Classes are open to 5 to 19 year olds and run every Saturday in Mossley. For more information please see their website.
Tameside A Cappella

Tameside A Cappella: “The Monday Mondays” are an unaccompanied mixed choir who sing pop and jazz. They aim to be an entertaining group - who learn their songs by heart, and have a well-known repertoire that audiences want to hear. They work hard to sing well, and have a lot of fun doing it. At present they are oversubscribed and have a waiting list, but are always interested in hearing from potential singers.
Next Generation
2pm
The award winning Next Generation Youth Theatre present, musical extracts from their recent showcase ‘New Routes’. Children and young people aged between 5-25, will entertain the whole family with hits from the charts and West End Musicals. For more details visit www.maods.org

BASE

BASE performing arts is a community based organisation. They continue to teach glee club/musical theatre style sessions for pupils aged 5+.
Donahey’s

Established in 1968, this year Donahey’s is celebrating 43 years of teaching people to dance.
Donahey’s was founded in 1968 by Patrick & Shirley Donahey, and is now run by mother & son team Paul & Shirley Donahey.
Donahey’s is one of the country’s leading Dance clubs, teaching children and adults of all ages to dance. They pride themselves on the quality of their events and classes, all with a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.
Empire Dance
3.30pm
Empire Community Stage School, runs at Ridge Hill Primary School and run classes for all styles of dance, such as street, musical theatre, belly dancing, cheerleading, inclusive dance, which are delivered to a wide age range and abilities. The community club is run by Jane Wood and Rebecca Cunningham. There will be Free Taster sessions available 10 September 2011. Empire Community Stage School are looking for any boys who are interested in street dance and will be promoting an all boys class in September.
Jay’s Belly Dancers

A community belly dance class that meet at Aldwinian’s Rugby Club every Wednesday at 7.45pm till 8.45pm every week. The class is aimed at all levels of dancers and anyone is welcome. Come along and give Belly Dancing a try!
Albert and the Lion

Monologue John Bartley and Dorothy Fryman, aka. Song and Story and have been working as a duo for around four years, with floor spots, festival spots and charity events and bookings. They guarantee a consistent and enjoyable performance and are keen to accept more paid bookings further afield.
North West Latin Formation Team
4.20pm
A group of 8 teenagers aged 13-16 who love Latin formation dancing. They got together in May 2011 as a youth group after their dance school of 10 years closed down.
They competed in the British open championships in April but have now got a brand new routine and teacher, and together they produced this fantastic routine to a mixture of ABBA music and different Latin dances such as cha cha jive and samba. Hannah, Deanna, Becky, Kitty, Keesha, Sinead, Kelsey and Cameron make up this fantastic 4 couple Latin formation team.
Performances conclude at 4.30pm.
