Tameside Sports Awards 2006
Tameside Sports Development held it's fifth annual sports awards evening in February 2007 sponsored by Davis Sports held at Dukinfield Town Hall where over 90 people with nominated.
The guest speaker was Mike Watkinson, Cricket Manager from Lancashire County Cricket Club and John Gwynne, Sky Sports Darts Commentator, compared the event, the Mayor of Tameside presented all certificates and prizes.
The six categories and winners for 2006 were as follows:
- Coach of the Year - Harry Kelly (East Cheshire Harriers and Tameside AC)
- Club of the Year - Tameside Netball Club
- Volunteer in Sport - Phillip Frattaroli
- Sports Achiever of the Year - Matthew Nixon (Ashton-under-Lyne Golf Club)
- Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year - James Pollitt (East Cheshire Harriers and Tameside AC)
- Unsung Hero in Sport Award of the Year - Alan Bradbury (Droylsden Juniors F.C.)
