Tameside Sports Awards
The Tameside Sports Awards recognise and celebrate the wealth of talent and commitment seen in community sport across the borough. The awards encompass all ten boroughs in Greater Manchester. Category winners in each of the boroughs will automatically be entered into the Greater Manchester Sports Awards.
The closing date for entries for the 2008 Sports Development Awards is Friday 6th February 2009.
This years Tameside Sports Development Awards will be held on Wednesday 4th March 2009. The categories are:
Coach of the year
A community, club or school based coach who has made a significant impact or contribution to the development of performers in their sport or borough.
Club of the Year
A sports club which has made a significant impact or contribution to the development of sport in the community.
Volunteer in Sport of the Year
A person who has volunteered their time and made a significant impact or contribution to the development of performers, club, community or school.
Unsung Hero in Sport Award
A person who has made an impact over a number of years on people, club, school or within the community.
Sports Achiever of the Year
A sports performer who has made significant improvement in their development as a sports player/ athlete.
Disabled Sport Achiever of the Year
A person who has made significant contribution, impact or improvement in their development as a disabled sports player/athlete.
If you would like to nominate an individual or clubs in any of the categories above please fill out a Tameside Sports Awards nominee form.
The borough awards will be judged by representatives of the Sport Development Unit. The Greater Manchester Sports Awards judging panel will include representation from all the boroughs in Greater Manchester as well as GreaterSport. All decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding decision.
