Dance, Drama and Cheerleading

Are you interested in taking part in a fun and challenging week of dance, drama and cheerleading? The camp is open to boys and girls aged 8-13. No previous experience is necessary.

Gymnastics

These courses are aimed at young people wishing to try and develop their skills and strength in a fun environment. The course will include working on apparatus and floor routines.

  • Busy Bodz Gymnastics, 1st Floor, Greenside Mill, Greenside Lane, Droylsden (Ref: GY1)
    Monday, 11th - Wednesday, 13th August 2008 (10.00am - 12.00noon)
    For 5-9 year olds.

    Monday, 11th - Wednesday, 13th August 2008 (1.00pm - 3.00pm) - please note: on 13th August session time is 12.00noon - 2.00pm
    For 10-16 year olds.
    £15.00 for the full course, £12.00 for a second child or £10.65 with a Flex Card

Health and Safety waiver forms will be sent out to you after you have booked on the course.  This form needs to be returned to the coach on the first day of the course, otherwise your child will not be able to participate.

Please Note: The Gymnastic course bookings are only accepted via postal applications with a cheque.

Junior Sports Leaders Award for Young People with Disabilities

This course is for 14 - 19 year olds. This award will allow young people with disabilities to assist and deliver sports sessions throughout the Borough in a voluntary capacity. The course will cover modules from warm up games, organisation, health and safety and delivering of sports to groups and individuals.

Play for under 5's

Fun, Active and Play

Activities for boys and girls aged 2 - 5 years to be accompanied by parents/guardians. These fun sessions are aimed at get young children active and help with their basic motor skills, running, throwing, catching, ball skills, playing and social interaction through play. Sport in the Park

Just turn up - no need to book

For boys and girls aged 8 - 12 years of age wishing to try a variety of outdoor sports with qualified and experienced coaches. Tennis, cricket, basketball, netball, rounders, athletics etc. All equipment will be provided, just turn up with a completed application form. Sessions will run throughout the summer for each venue.

Street Games

6 Aside Boys Football Competition

For boys in school years 7, 8 and 9 at 13.00pm - 14.00pm and school years 10 and 11 at 14.00pm - 15.00pm (two separate competitions). Form a team with your friends and come along to this fun, exciting competition. Call Mike Power for a team entry form on 0161 609 1277.

Tennis

For boys and girls aged 8 - 11 years (school years 3 - 6) who wish to learn the basics of tennis or develop their skills in court play, forehand, serving, volleying and tactical play. (Run by Priory Tennis Club).

For those wishing to develop their racket skills, team play, course awareness and stroke play.  You may bring along your own tennis racket.

Following government guidelines through Ofsted, Tameside Sports Development will no longer provide full day activities for children under the age of 8 years.  This is due to the activities running for over two hours a day.  For further clarification you may contact Ofsted on 08456 404045.
