The audit of the accounts for the year ended 31st March 2009, of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council have been concluded by the auditors the Audit Commission.

The maintenance and integrity of the Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council website is the responsibility of the council; the work carried out by the auditors does not involve consideration of these matters and, accordingly, the auditors accept no responsibility for any changes that may have occurred to the financial statements since they were initially presented on the website.

Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

The Statement of Accounts containing a copy of the auditor's certificate, will be open for inspection by any local government elector for the area of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council from Thursday 15th October 2009, until Thursday 12th November 2009, at the Council Offices, Wellington Road, Ashton-under-Lyne between the hours of 8.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday and any such local government elector may take a copy thereof or extracts there from without payment.

Copies of the Council's Statement of Accounts will be despatched to any such local elector for the payment of £5.00 per copy.
