Theatre Arts Development

An integral part of the Arts, Events and Tourism Team

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council has produced a new Theatre Arts Action Plan which will be developed by the Theatre Arts Working Group and the Theatre Arts Officer. This Action Plan aims to support the council’s main priorities and add to the future wealth, health and regeneration of all our local communities. The plan sets out the Councils priorities for theatre arts in Tameside over the next three years initially.

There are many theatre arts opportunities within Tameside and the Action Plan is just the starting point.

There is already much activity taking place and the aim is to build upon this, to strengthen the existing provision and provide further opportunities for people to participate and enjoy theatre arts.

If you have any questions, have any suggestions or need advice on any aspect of theatre arts then the Theatre Arts Officer would be pleased to assist you.

The role is : 

1. aimed to support and encourage theatre arts activity within the borough.
2. to implement and develop the action plan.
3. a resource to assist individuals and groups.
4. a resource to provide information and advice.
5. to increase theatre arts activity in the borough.
6. to locate and inform on available funding sources.
7. to develop links between organisations.
8. to increase people’s understanding of theatre arts.
