Tameside Adult Services provides home care support for adults to enable them to live as independently as possible in their own homes.
Home support workers provide support from 7.00am until 10.00pm, 7 days a week including all bank holidays.
Who provides the home care?
Tameside Adult Services commissions private agencies as well as having its own Home and Community Support Service to provide home care for our service users.
The ChoicE shop (Care and Home Options Independent ChoicE) provides information on private home care agencies.
What services do we provide?
We cater for the individual needs of service users. We provide assistance with personal care such as washing and dressing, or other practical daily support like meal preparation, laundry shopping and pension collection.
How can you get hold of this service?
Tameside Adult Services need to carry out an assessment. This is where our staff talk with you about your needs and find out how best we can support you. We may decide that the best way to help you is to provide home support.

What standard of service can you expect?
Tameside Adult Services is committed to providing quality care. All home care agencies used by Tameside are registered with Commission for Social Care Inspection.
Even if you are paying for your own care, Tameside Adult Services can give you information, advice and support. If you are paying for your own care, you are considered to be "Self funding". If you are a Self funder and not receiving any of our adult care services you are still entitled to help, information and advice about staying in your own home or moving into a care home.
Our Customer Care Officers will be pleased to advise you and can make home visits if necessary. We can provide information in a wide range fo different formats and will provide an interpreter if necessary. Additionally, highly trained Welfare Rights Officers are available and can advise you about benefits, allowances and pension entitlements.
How do you pay for this service?
A financial assessment is done to find out what you will have to pay.
What if you need any equipment or adaptations?
Contact Adult Services for information on equipment and adaptations to support you in your home.
Would you like Meals on Wheels?
You may be eligible for the Meals on Wheels Service. Please contact Adult Services for more information.
Does Tameside have a community alarm service?
Yes! Contact the Community Response Service to find out how to get an alarm in your home to give you peace of mind.
