Food Safety and Health & Safety Training Courses


The Environmental Safety and Hygiene Section offers a number of nationally recognised courses that are approved and registered by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. 

 All courses lead to a formal qualification

Courses are run by Environmental Health Officers who have considerable experience in the practical application of food safety and health and safety legislation.

Courses available:-

Food Safety Certificate- Level 2 Award

Aims - To give first tier workers an appreciation of the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice. It is intended to provide a basis for more advanced studies in all aspects of food hygiene. Duration - 1 day. (View more information on the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering).

Foundation Health and Safety Certificate

Aims - To give first-tier workers an appreciation of the fundamentals of good health and safety practice. Duration - 1 day. (View more information on the Foundation Health and Safety Certificate).

Safer Food Better Business (SFBB)

Aims - To advise and assist business owners with the correct procedures of implementing a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) based food safety system. Duration - half a day. (View more information on the SFBB course)
