Do you want to visit our offices and speak to a member of our staff/Would you like an opinion about a development?
If you want to discuss a potential development with us at our offices then phone the appropriate officer or use the online Office Appointment form. This facility is offered for people who want to come and discuss a complex issue, a commercial development, or present some plans to us for a pre-application discussion. We ask for a weeks notice to allow us to do some background checks, so outline any areas of concern on the on-line forms. The on-line form will confirm the appointment, all you need to do is report to our reception area and we will come and see you. View location details.
Do you want an opinion about the need for planning consent for an extension or other proposal around a dwelling house?
By phoning the appropriate officer you can book for us to come to and look at your house and give an opinion about any proposal you may have for it, you can also do this using the online Household Visit Appointment form. This includes conservatories, fences, sheds garages etc. Our web pages offer lots of advice so look at these before you call us out but if you are unsure press here to book an appointment. We are out on site in the afternoons and can call but we need two days notice. Please do not use this facility for other more complex proposals.
You can make a complaint about a planning matter and we will discuss the matter with you.
The service primarily is set up to allow you to seek an opinion about a planning issue. Stage inspections for works in progress are undertaken by our Building Surveyors. Building Regulation site inspections can be arranged by telephone 0161 342 2637/2638, by downloading the Inspection Notice Form 96.84 KB 
or by completing the building control inspection application.
