- How can the price per square yard be converted into the price per square metre and vice versa?
How must carpets be sold from bulk (from rolls or sample pieces)?
It must be sold by reference to the whole square metre.
What about sales of linoleum/cushionfloor types of products?
These must be sold off the roll by reference to a square metre or a linear metre (metre length of product from a roll).
How can offcuts and single pieces be sold?
The dimensions can be expressed in either metric or imperial units.
Can the price of a square yard also be given?
Yes, but the imperial measurement must not be more prominent than the metric. Examples of this are:-
- The metric statement must be at least the same size as the imperial statement.
- The relative positioning of the two statements and the colours used, must not make the imperial statement more prominent.
What about newspaper advertisements?
The same rules apply as above.
How can the price per square yard be converted into the price per square metre and vice versa?
To convert square yards into square metres multiply by 0.836
To convert square metres to square yards multiply by 1.196
Note :- A stamped measure of length (stamped metre stick or tape measure) must be used.
