Photograph of activities taking place in Hattersley Community CentreLocated on the Hattersley Arcade, facing the library, the Hattersley Community Centre facilitates a wide variety of programmes and community groups. Courses have taken place here directly related to improving your skills and employability, while others take a lighter approach.

If you are looking for information on training or what is going on in your local community, a visit to the Hattersley Neighbourhood Partnership Office on the Hattersley Arcade, would usually be a first port of call. Here information can be gained on a wide variety issues, through the 'Step Ahead' advice and guidance scheme.

Courses

The Community Centre is currently focusing on providing a venue for local activities and community groups. These include weekly Tai Chi sessions, on a Tuesday from 12.00pm until 2.00pm and the Craft Club from 10.00am until 12.00pm on a Wednesday.

Further information, including what's on at the community centre can be found at www.hattersleyonline.com Link to External Website

Further Information

Many of Hattersley's community groups and networks operate out of or have a presence within the Centre. These include the volunteer network, women's group and the single parents network.

The Centre also holds the Hearty Bite Café, serving refreshments to those groups using the Centre, as well as catering for tea dances and community events. The café opens daily from 10.00am until 2.00pm. Citizens Advice Bureau drop-in sessions are also held at the Community Centre, from 9.00am until 11.30am on Fridays. Monthly Councillors' advice surgeries are also held at the Centre, either on a Wednesday evening or Saturday morning.

The Neighbourhood Partnership Office would be the first point of call for those looking to benefit from the 'Step Ahead' programme, providing Hattersley residents with advice, guidance and information.

The 'Warm Phone' service was also introduced in the neighbourhood partnership offices, as of November 2006. This service provides a free phone and direct contact with various agencies, for enquiries on benefits, jobs, training, pensions and various other activities. The Warm Phone can be used from 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am - 4.00pm on Fridays.
