Photograph of the Multi Purpose Conference RoomThe Haughton Green Centre is located on Tatton Road, opposite the Haughton Green Library and near the doctor's surgery. The centre is run jointly by the Haughton Green Community Forum (made up of volunteers from the local community) and the NHS Primary Care Trust. This recently refurbished venue provides a base for a wide variety of activities, including both leisure activities and the chance to improve skills through training.

The multi purpose Conference Room is the centre's main facility with regard to training. As well as providing a venue for various courses, this room has also hosted local opportunities fairs, with agencies such as Job Centre Plus and providers such as Tameside College in attendance.

There is also a smaller room, which is used part time by the primary care trust, but can also be used for courses and activities. The front of the Haughton Green Centre also houses a pram shed, where prams can be left safely while attending a course or activity at the centre.

The local NHS Primary Care Trust also operates out of the centre, operating activities such as baby weighing clinics and vision tests. The Citizen's Advice Bureau (Wednesday 9am-12pm) and the Credit Union (Monday 11am-12pm) both operate weekly sessions out of the centre. The Changing Lives Project will also be operating sessions once a month, for a full day. The Children's Centre also has a strong presence at the centre, their staff operate in a network around the Denton South area, with the Haughton Green Centre being one of their key venues. The Volunteer Centre has made use of these facilities in Haughton Green in the past, with recent successful pre-volunteer recruitment courses taking place.

Other leisure-based activities also occur at the centre, these include a walking group, bingo, armchair exercises and Tai Chi (information on all of these sessions can be gained by ringing reception on 0161 337 5354). A parents coffee morning is also held on a Monday morning in the conference room.
