The St.Peter's People Staff are more than happy to advise you on how best to address your training needs, with information on a wide variety of courses and programmes.

Many courses are run at the Richmond Suite, which is predominantly used for Learndirect courses and training. This allows the Richmond suite to host flexible and convenient training, based around your individual needs. Some courses are also held at other community venues across the St Peters area (information on this will be given by the course contact).

Cavendish Mill is easily found, being opposite the entrance to Asda in Ashton-under-Lyne.

The Richmond Suite is just minutes away from Ashton town centre, located on Portland Street, just off the prominent Katherine Street.

Photograph of a display for jobs and training advice dayCavendish Mill will generally be the first point of call for St Peters residents, with regard to advice and guidance. As well as training, advice is provided on Incapacity Benefit, New Deal for Disabled People, Young People's Issues and a range of related issues. There is an interview room at the Cavendish Mill Centre, which has helped the centre provide facilities for various uses and organisations.

Tameside Citizens Advice Bureau runs a drop in session every Tuesday from 9am to 12 noon. In addition, an appointment only session is run from 9am to 12pm on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. Appointments are also made at Cavendish Mill in conjunction with NDDP (New Deal for Disabled People). Incapacity Benefit advice and information on a variety of subjects for Young People are also available in house.

The Richmond Suite is the main referral for those looking for Learndirect or ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), with various free English, Maths and IT courses. Qualifications such as the OCR National Certificate in Adult Numeracy and Literacy (Levels 1 and 2) and the European Computer Driving License, can be gained at the Richmond Suite.
