Food and Drink Festival 2009

2009's annual Food and Drink Festival. This film shows some of the highlights including The Tameside Fair Trade Conference, the first Tameside Pudding Club and the Indian Ocean restaurant's world record attempt for the amount of naan breads cooked in an hour.
Black Knight Fair 2009

Every year the Black Knight Fair takes place in Ashton-under-Lyne, with it's roots believed to be in celebration of the death of the black hearted Sir Ralph de Assheton.

Ronnie Hazlehurst Blue Plaque Unveiling

The latest addition to the blue plaque family pays tribute to legendary composer Ronnie Hazlehurst, who composed some of TV's best known theme tune's including Last of the Summer Wine, To the Manor Born, Yes Minister and The Two Ronnies.

Corporal Kenneth Horsfield Blue Plaque Unveiled
26th February 2009
Corporal Kenneth Horsfield is the only Tameside citizen to have received the George Cross - the highest award for conspicuous courage out of battle. He was awarded the posthumous honour following his gallant rescue efforts that resulted in his own loss of life in Italy on August 18, 1944, when he was aged just 23. This blue plaque commemorates the hero and was unveiled by Cllr Jackie Lane a Dukinfield Town Hall.
