Shared Interest is about finance for Fair Trade. The way we work is by using investment from UK members so that’s an individual or group or business opening an account with shared interest. What we do is pool that money together with the rest of the investors and we lend it out to Fair Trades businesses in the developing world who can’t otherwise get credit or loans facilities in their own country. So when they repay a loan we can recycle that money straight away so each £1 invested is recycled continually or a UK member can withdraw money and have it back if they ever need to.
This week has helped us a lot with Fair Trade and the understanding of it
I just think it’s like helped me know about it more and I yeah I mean I don’t know I understand it more ‘cause of this.
If everyone talked about it more and everyone gets to know it more people will start listening.
Some people say that Fair Trade cost us more, it does cost more but it can change someone else’s life.
I think it’s really important that we keep spreading the word. Fair Trade is available all over the place now which is brilliant news but there’s still a long way to go.
That’s what we like, great. It’s a good ‘un that, lovely.
I’d like to bring your attention to the little cards that are on your table for when you’re tasting these puddings give them a mark from zero to 5, 5 being the best. Your third pudding this evening is a sticky toffee pudding with a very topping and toffee sauce there’s one or two of you got your in that I can see. You’re doing ever so well doing these puddings I’ll hand you back over to Craig who will explain by the way by the way thank you.
The trifle is a red wine, it’s a red dessert wine.
Bread and butter pudding with fresh steaming custard, more steaming custard is required How did Hands up anyone who’s left any.
In 5th place on 83 points is your bread and butter pudding, in 4th place on 122 points is your trifle, in 3rd place on 149 points is your toffee pudding and in 2nd place this evening on 152 points the cheesecake, in 1st place tonight on 187 points, apple crumble.
Cheers and applause.
So a huge round of applause for the chefs and cheffesses this evening who’ve worked tremendously hard for you. They have worked really hard.

Was that really hard work?
Oh yes.
Have you been practising for a long time?
Yeah in this building the last 20 years.
But in a normal day how many naans would you normally make?
400, 300 in a running business but in 1 hour 6 another
We need someone else to compete with us to beat our record so that we can
To give you a sense of worth.
But right now at the moment no one’s going to challenge us because that’s a high record anyway as it is
Yeah so whatever we do and whatever comes in our way we’re going to have to beat them
Cheering and applause.
