Longdendale Community and Language College create an animation based on an L.S. Lowry painting.

As Lowry stands by the canal in Salford he thinks of the countryside.
Out in the Derbyshire hills two young boys set off on their ponies to go to the Mottram in Longdendale Agriculture Fair. As they ride through the show, the dray wagon frightens one of the ponies and one boy falls off. He gets into a fight with another lad, and runs off with his brother, catches his pony and they return to the hills.
The animation refers to Lowry’s painting ‘Horse in the Derbyshire hills’, Mottram in Longdendale Mottram Fair and the drawing ‘The Clog Fight’.
